Let’s find an earlier detection, together.

Connor House Bosom Buddies is Connor House’s entirely student-run non-profit service initiative with the mission to spread awareness about breast cancer and early detection, to aid and support those currently suffering from breast cancer, and to raise research funds for Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test, a Greensboro-based organization that works toward finding alternative methods of earlier breast cancer detection.

Most breast cancer is in the body five to eight years before it can be detected through current methods. Earlier detection may prevent invasive surgery, minimize treatment and dramatically increase survival chances.

The single mission of Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test is the discovery of an innovative biological test to detect breast cancer earlier.

Friends is the nation’s only organization with an exclusive focus on finding an earlier biological test for breast cancer. The objective of the organization is to direct as many funds as possible, as quickly as possible, to the researchers who are searching for a biological method capable of indicating the presence of breast cancer in the body within the first year of onset.

The pink ribbon is a symbol all over the world for breast cancer awareness, however Friends chose to use an upside down pink ribbon as their symbol to represent their different perspective towards breast cancer research.
